A. All accepted applicants are required to pay their first $5 USD monthly instalment by the start date of their chosen programme. You can complete your payment through the ALX eHUB, with a variety of payment options available. Following monthly payments will be due one month from your programme start date. (Ex. If your programme starts on 18th November 2024, the first payment is due on that day, and the second instalment is due on the 18th December 2024.)

B. You can either pay the $5 USD All Access yourself or have someone pay on your behalf. ALX accepts all major credit cards, Apple and Google Pay, PayPal, and mobile money payment options. Some markets have cash options as well.

C. Pay on a monthly basis or several months ahead on the ALX eHUB.

Learners can choose to pay either in their local currency or in USD. ALX fees are charged in USD and therefore are subject to exchange rate fluctuations.

ALX accepts a wide variety of payment methods, including (but not limited to):.

• Other African markets: many of the above options are available in other African countries as well

   NB. For all non-card transactions (such as bank transfers, Applepay, GooglePay, FawryPay or mobile transactions) a 2% non-refundable processing fee may apply.

All Access payments are non-refundable and compulsory for learners to complete their programme. You will not receive a refund if you are unable to complete the programme, however you will be able to pause your programme and restart your learning at a later date. Please note that the deferment cut-off dates vary by proramme and after these dates you would need to re-enroll into the next cohort.

A. ALX Learners have the option to defer their programme start date with the following guidance:

1. Your first All Access Payment is non-refundable: ALX All Access gives you access the full community, events, content and benefits and you will remain active on the system, even if you defer your programme start date. You will have the option to freeze your monthly payments until your deferred start date; in this case your next payment will be due by your new cohort start date.

2. You will not be able to carry your learning progress forward and will be required to start your cohort from week 1 – with exception of deferment after successful completion of Professional Foundations. Once a learner successfully completes Professional Foundations, deferment to any Tech Specialisation is possible in accordance with the learning calendar.

3. You will not be required to go through the admissions process and will be able to enroll into your new cohort through the ALX eHUB.

The first All Access $5 USD payment is due on your programme start date. All subsequent payments are due one month from your programme start date, and will be communicated in your eHub profile and over email. Should you miss your payment deadline, your eHub access will be paused and you will have two weeks to make your payment and reactivate your profile. Your access will be restored again as soon as your payment is made. If you don’t make payment within your two week reactivation period, you will be considered as dropped out and will be required to reapply to your programme to continue.

The Salesforce Associate Certification exam normally costs $75 USD, with no retake fees. ALX learners receive a 50% discount, making the exam fee $37.50 USD. There are still no retake fees for ALX learners.

The Salesforce Administrator Certification exam normally costs $200 USD, with retake fees of $100 USD. ALX learners receive a 50% discount, making the exam fee $100 USD and the retake fee $50 USD.

As an ALX learner, you receive a significant benefit: a 50% discount on all certification exam fees. You will be responsible for paying the remaining 50% directly to the third-party provider that administers the exams.

The full AWS or Salesforce programme offers learners the opportunity to receive 2 internationally-recognised certifications.

Learners will be able to complete Track 1 and receive an ALX certificate of completion without completing third-party, internationally recognised certification exams. In order to move on to Track 2 of each programme, it is required that you pass the exam at the end of Track 1.

If you opt out of taking the exam at the end of Track 2, you will not receive your internationally-recognised certificate from either Salesforce or AWS, but you can still receive a certificate of completion from ALX.

Note: While these exams are not a requirement, it is highly encouraged that you take and pass them in order to set yourself up for career success after completing your programme.

The exam fees are paid directly to a third-party provider that administers the certifications, not to ALX. These certifications are awarded by globally-recognised institutions and therefore are separate from the ALX ecosystem entirely.
