What will you need?
- ALX Pathway charges a $5 USD monthly fee to access ALX Pathway, for a total of $40 USD over 8 months of Pathway Foundations.**
- First $5 USD instalment is required to confirm enrolment by 21 April 2025 to start your programme.
- Must be located in any of our ALX Hub cities. You are expected to visit the ALX Hub closest to you, to receive the full benefits of the Pathway experience. Hub attendance is required once per week, at least 3 times per month, for the duration of Pathway Foundations.
- A laptop or desktop computer with access to a stable internet connection.

ALX Pathway is a revolutionary approach for high school graduates looking to take their next step toward a future in tech. As part of Pathway, participants gain access to opportunities to develop their entrepreneurial, leadership, and professional skills and can choose to accelerate their tech career with one of our university partners.
Yes, you can still apply for the Pathway programme even if you already hold a bachelor’s degree. Currently, we do not offer Master’s degree options with our partner universities. If you are interested in acquiring a second bachelor’s degree, you are welcome to apply to the programme.
In order to access our partner universities, you must first join our future-first talent development ecosystem, and complete the 8-months of Pathway Foundations. As you progress through Pathway Foundations, you will start your application to university partners through their standard application and admissions process and must meet the requirements as outlined by each university partner. Scholarships and sponsorships are limited and not guaranteed.
ALX is proud to partner with leading universities. ALX will continue to add more global partners over the next several months, with more information to follow soon. Participants will be offered the full list of available partners as they progress through Pathway Foundations, including information about available programmes, pricing, and delivery models (online, in-person, or hybrid).
Applications are now open until the 4th of October 2024. To start your application, please click the Apply Now button at the top of the page. The application consists of assessments in English proficiency, logic, and numerical skills and should take, on average, 90 minutes to complete.
There are no learning prerequisites for ALX Pathway. Standard ALX eligibility requirements apply. You will need to ensure you are available and dedicated to spend up to 50 hours per week to complete the Pathway experience and have access to a laptop or desktop computer with stable internet access. During the application process, we will assess your English proficiency and logical reasoning skills. Partner university eligibility requirements apply and may differ from ALX eligibility requirements. Once accepted, you will also be required to regularly attend weekly activities at the ALX Tech Hubs for the duration of ALX Pathway Foundations.
Pathway Foundations equips you with the building blocks to support your future tech education and career aspirations. Over 8 months, you will refresh your logic, reasoning, and communication skills, gain entrepreneurial and professional insights, and prepare for your application to our partner universities with support from mentors. ALX Pathway Foundations is geared towards preparing participants for technical fields and includes introductions to current ALX Tech Lite offerings, such as Software Engineering and Data Analytics.
Professional Foundations is an 8-week programme offered by ALX Africa where you will learn the professional skills needed to excel in today’s digital workplace. It is a prerequisite for further skills development that is required to complete before starting our various short-term tech lite programmes. This programme is meant to help prepare you to upskill or re-skill in order to accelerate your career in tech.
Over the 8 months of Pathway Foundations, we will prepare you with the essential experience to enable your next step in education and your future career. Pathway Foundations is the key to unlocking access to future opportunities and prepares you for a successful application process and scholarship opportunities with our partner universities.
ALX partner universities consider successful completion of Pathway Foundations as a crucial part of your application preparation.
ALX Pathway charges a $5 USD monthly fee to access ALX Pathway, for a total of $40 USD over 8 months of Pathway Foundations. The first $5 USD instalment (or payment in full) is required to confirm your enrolment by 21 April 2025 to start your programme. All subsequent monthly payments will be due on the final day of the following month. This fee unlocks your full ALX Pathway experience including access to the ALX Tech Hubs, community, events, ALX Pathway Foundations and so much more.
Upon enrolment into ALX Pathway you will receive a subsequent email communication with details of how and when to pay the first instalment of your Access Fee. ALX offers a multitude of payment options including mobile payments, bank payments, and cash payments in some markets. Following the first payment instalment, learners will have flexibility as to how and when they complete the remainder of the $40 USD Access Fee with full payment required to successfully complete ALX Pathway Foundations.
The first $5 USD monthly instalment is due by 6 October 2024 in order to successfully confirm enrolment into ALX Pathway and start the programme on 21 October 2024.

No. University admission is NOT guaranteed. Applicants must meet the application and admission criteria according to each Partner University programme.
Yes, the ALX experience includes in-person sessions at the ALX Tech Hubs. Here you will be able to meet and interact with you peers and your community.
We recommend visiting the Hub closest to you as often as possible to receive the full benefits of the Pathway experience. Hub attendance is required one time per week, for a minimum of 3 times per month, for the duration of Pathway Foundations.
