Recognizing the crucial role of higher education in driving personal and societal progress, ALX created Pathway to provide high school graduates with access to leading US and African university partners for their continued education. Participants in Pathway enter a dedicated talent ecosystem enriched by virtual and in-person infrastructure, community events, and tailored support to accelerate their professional journeys. 

The 8-month Pathway Foundations programme starts by preparing learners comprehensively for university applications, equipping them with essential skills in CV writing, interview preparation, and critical competencies in communication, entrepreneurship, and self-leadership. This helps applicants stand out when they apply to any of our university partners, drastically increasing their odds of acceptance to the university of their choice.

By focusing on both foundational knowledge and practical skills, Pathway Foundations ensures participants are well-prepared to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the broader economy. 

Pathway Foundations focuses on 8 meta skills

The first 8 months of Pathway is Pathway Foundations, a dynamic program centred around eight essential meta-skills. These include: critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, adaptability, creativity, emotional intelligence, and leadership. These 8 meta skills help learners prepare for their academic endeavours and following career. By developing these professional skills, participants are well equipped to navigate complex challenges and find success.
