The latest edition of the ALX Mentoring Series took place on Thursday, 25 September 2025, bringing together young Africans from within and beyond the ALX community for two powerful sessions led by Pearl Uzokwe and Anwulika Okonjo. These sessions, which have become a safe space for emerging African leaders to learn, reflect, and connect with mentors who are actively shaping the continent’s future, are sparking ideas, building confidence, and inspiring the next generation to lead with purpose. intersect.

Pearl Uzokwe, Programme Director at Africa Forward Catalyst Now and Board Member of the Malala Fund, presented on “The Courage to Lead Africa’s Future.” She spoke about alignment, resilience, and purpose, reminding participants that courage is not the absence of fear but choosing to act despite it. She encouraged attendees to release the pressure of perfection, confront impostor thoughts with honesty, and build structures that make growth sustainable.

In the session titled “The Unwritten Code: How to Thrive as an African in the AI Economy,” entrepreneur and innovator Anwulika Okonjo explored what it means to stay relevant in a world defined by artificial intelligence. She emphasized the importance of human skills, contextual intelligence, and long-term vision. She also challenged outdated assumptions around who gets to lead in the AI space and highlighted the value of building solutions that reflect African realities.
Both speakers reinforced why inclusion, representation, and shared access to knowledge matter, especially as Africa positions itself at the forefront of leadership, innovation, and transformation.
