ALX Partners with Giants of Africa to Champion Youth Potential and Tech-Driven Futures at the 2025 Giants of Africa Festival

Kigali, Rwanda ALX, a transformative organisation dedicated to equipping the next generation of African leaders and innovators with skills for the digital age, proudly partnered with the Giants of Africa Festival to ignite a new wave of youth empowerment and possibility across the continent. This partnership is more than a collaboration it’s a shared belief that Africa’s future lies in the dreams, creativity, and resilience of its young people.

Rooted in a mission to create access and opportunity at scale, ALX’s presence at the Giants of Africa Festival reinforces its commitment to helping young Africans build the confidence, skills, and community needed to thrive in the digital economy. Just like in sport, the path to success is powered by discipline, bold ambition, and belief values deeply shared by both organizations.

A powerful expression of this commitment at the festival was the showcase of the recently launched ALX Creative Tech Program at the International Youth Day Forum. The program, designed to empower young Africans in the creative sector with the tools to integrate technology into their craft from digital content production to AI-powered storytelling reflects ALX’s belief that creativity, when enhanced by tech, can unlock new industries and elevate African voices on the global stage.

The Giants of Africa International Youth Day Forum, which took place on July 27, 2025, in Rwanda, offered an exceptional opportunity to connect with thousands of young Africans. The event, which convened over 2,000 youth, provided a powerful platform for young people to reimagine their future, explore bold ideas, and awaken the potential within them to shape Africa’s tomorrow.

As part of the forum, ALX hosted a compelling roundtable session featuring current learners and alumni young Africans who have unlocked life-changing opportunities through ALX’s world-class training. In a showcase of impact, several ALX-trained entrepreneurs also presented their ventures, offering firsthand insight into how they are solving real-world problems across the continent through innovation and resilience.

The event echoed stories from the ALX community of how the programme has transformed their lives from landing roles in global tech companies to launching purpose-driven businesses. Their experiences served as a resounding call to action for all youth in the room: dream big, do hard things, and know you’re not alone ALX is with you every step of the way.

Vanessa Karangwa,

“Before ALX, I was confused and tech felt like a world I could never reach. But today, I’m a woman in tech, doing hard things, building solutions I once thought were impossible. ALX gave me the tools and the belief to dream beyond my circumstances.”

“If we can tap into the energy and creativity of Africa’s youth, we won’t just solve the continent’s challenges; we’ll help tackle some of the world’s greatest problems,” said Fred Swaniker, Founder and CEO of ALX. “That’s the spirit behind our partnership with Giants of Africa: to unlock the power of possibility, one young dreamer at a time.”

"We're proud to partner with ALX at the Giants of Africa Festival. This partnership reflects our shared belief in the transformative power of African youth,” said Masai Ujiri, Giants of Africa Co-Founder. “ We've always believed that basketball can create opportunities and ALX is doing the exact same thing through technology. When you give these young people the tools, confidence, and community to believe in themselves, that's how we build the next generation of African leaders."

The Youth Forum welcomed notable dignitaries and key stakeholders in youth development, reflecting the significance of the event on both a national and continental scale. The day also featured an electric performance by Chriss Eazy, one of Rwanda’s most celebrated musical talents and an alumnus of the ALX Artificial Intelligence Career Essentials (AICE) program. He is a powerful example of how creatives can harness the power of technology and AI to enhance their craft, expand their reach, and unlock new possibilities in a fast-evolving digital economy.

With over 60% of Africa’s population under the age of 25, the continent holds the world’s youngest demographic and its greatest untapped potential. ALX is meeting this moment with urgency and vision. Through its transformative career training programs, ALX is building a movement of impact-driven talent prepared for the future of work. With a fast-growing community of learners and a dynamic alumni network of changemakers and entrepreneurs across the continent, the organisation remains committed to its bold mission: to empower two million ethical, entrepreneurial leaders by 2030 and to do so at scale, with excellence and heart.

As the Giants of Africa Festival continues to unite youth from across the continent, ALX remains steadfast in being the bridge between potential and opportunity, and to empower Africa’s next generation to lead, build, and thrive in a rapidly changing world.
